Hi Arlene
Thanks for the kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I wasn't aware of that. It is indeed a long hill, and no matter the outcome, full of both trials and triumphs isn't it?

Rather like Sisyphus, who kept pushing that silly rock up the hill, I figure the main thing is to make sure it doesn't run over our foot when it rolls back down. ;)

I look forward to hearing from you any time.

Hi David. I've missed you on WC. Had no idea that you were struggling with cancer and the challenges you have been facing the past couple of years. I've been away visiting family and travelling this summer but will take some time now to read your full story. I was caregiver to my husband who battled liver cancer for a year before the disease claimed his life.
It's a long hill to climb, and I am so glad you are a survivor.
Take care, and I will be in touch.

Hi Elizabeth
Thanks so much for taking the time to add a comment.
I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter's radiation regimen was so difficult. I know that i was very fortunate in the overall mild reactions I had to both the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I hope that the severity of your daughter's reaction was fully addressed by her medical team and that she received every support possible(sounds like it from your positive comments about them).

There is no support more important than family and I'm quite certain that, although we've never "met", that you have been there for her.

I hope that she's doing well?

David, since Crazyheart told me about this site I've been reading along. Your experiences (surgery, chemo, then radiation) followed that of my daughter who had breast cancer last year. Much was similar. But there were differences. Her skin was burned raw with the radiation and nearly became infected.

We also were most impressed by the medical staff. They were professional and kind. Everything went lock-step. No long waiting periods. And Medicare covered it - no questions asked. Thank God for Medicare. We have to protect it.

No back to reading.

You're both much too kind :$
I think that, if I've offered anything, whether on agapé or anything else over the years, it's been to help people recognize something they already know. Maybe just a bit more consciously, or intentionally.

And I've never failed to find that I've learned/received more than I may have given, even from those I disagree with. :D

Look forward to continuing that journey as well.

HI Jayne
So nice to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words. I'm thankful I'm still here too. xD

As to my passion and wit :$ , although I'm not on wondercafe any longer, I do plan to continue to write on Seems Like God and the Golden Rule Radical as I regain energy. I'd love to have you and others comment and carry on any sort of discussion there just as we have done on other forums in the past.

David, thanks so much for sharing your journey. I have been missing your wisdom and humour in wc and to be blunt, am thankful you are still with us. It dawned on me that I hadn't witnessed your passion or wit lately and so, it raised a flag, a nagging concern, due to your serious health challanges.

So glad to read your update, and thankful for doctors, hospitals, and a bit of luck too that made you be in the right place at the right time.

Take care.
